1. Decide on a type of desk chair. Desk chairs come in different categories including ergonomic, reclining, high-backed, and forward leaning. Ergonomic desk chairs will provide lumbar support, while high-backed and forward-leaning desk chairs help support your upper back and neck. Reclining chairs will allow you to lean back.

2. Decide on whether you want a mobile or stationary desk chair. Mobile desk chairs have a set of casters at the base. Mobile chairs are either full motion or roll-only.
